Jim Blackmann is an author and musician. He began writing about intuition in March 2008, beginning with a series of magazine articles. This led him to design a series of tests to measure intuition in October 2011. The tests have been taken more than thirty thousand times, and led to the accompanying book, The Intuition Test, which was published in November 2016.

His latest book, Intuition in the West, grew out of more than thirty years study of Eastern and Western philosophy. Of particular interest was the influence of Eastern thinking on the heresies. It became clear that the association with the heresies is the reason why intuition is dismissed as subjective, unreliable and inferior to logic, even today. Intuition in the West is an attempt to redress that imbalance.

Jim Blackmann has also worked as an engineer and portrait artist. He is based in the South West of England.
